This module on Abnormal Uterine Bleeding focuses on key aspects relevant to primary care practice, including etiology, diagnostic evaluation, and management options. It equips primary care providers with knowledge and skills to effectively identify and treat abnormal uterine bleeding, enhancing patient care and improving outcomes.
Medical management of endometriosis
Medical management of endometriosis includes NSAIDs for pain, hormonal therapies (e.g., contraceptives, progestins, GnRH agonists) to suppress the cycle and control growth, and sometimes aromatase inhibitors. Treatment is tailored based on symptoms, fertility goals, and patient preferences. Consult a healthcare professional for personalized care.
Cervical screening and management of precancerous cervical lesion
Cervical screening detects precancerous lesions. Management options include observation, ablative (cryotherapy) or excisional (LEEP) procedures. Regular screening and appropriate treatment are essential for preventing cervical cancer. Follow-up is crucial for monitoring and early detection.
Pelvic mass - when to refer?
Referral for a pelvic mass is warranted when it is large, growing, suspicious for malignancy, causes symptoms, or is associated with concerning features on imaging. Timely referral ensures proper evaluation, diagnosis, and appropriate management by a specialist.
Course Reviews
Good sharing and very informative!
Dr. Tuan Muhammad Hanif
The last lecture on Turner Syndrome was quite detail (more for Gynaecologist)and mouthful for a GP. I would rather have the tips and tricks to diagnose Turner Syndrome at Primare Care level, and what to do before referral to gynae/endo.
Dr. Norazua Ridzwan
It was a good session. The speakers were knowledgeable and the best person to talk about the topics.
Dr. Noraini Mohd. Hanafi
